Curiosity… The Hijacked Virtue

We have lost something.

It was something we had but it has been taken from us. When we were very young and the world was new to us we craved knowledge. We wanted to know everything. Not only did we want to experience the world we wanted to become experts at it.

However, our culture is designed to drive curiosity from us. We have been shamed, intimidated, frightened and physically exhausted into mental submission. Even though we may still learn. We are not thinking. We are slaves to our culture. We are not curious.

Take back your curiosity!

Take your curiosity back!

As a society we have become mediocre in in the mind. We have lost our fortitude for curiosity, creativity, innovation, adventure and discovery. We did not just get old. We did not just get comfortable. We have given our minds over to this world.
With the Lord's authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity.
- Ephesians 4:17-19 NLT

Mental and emotional strength in facing difficulty, adversity, danger, or temptation courageously.

Curiosity

The desire to learn or know about anything; inquisitiveness.

Take your mind back. Curiosity is the antidote!

Curiosity has been trained out of us. It is difficult to see. Please, add curiosity your prayer list. Ask our Father to reveal to you where you have lost your curiosity and ask to get it back. You are a new creation. Uncover your desire to know everything. Experience your new world and be the expert you once wanted to be.

Curiosity isn't produced by trying to be positive or through accomplishing goals. It comes from seeking the truth.

Curiosity Hijacked

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe.

We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one.

For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,

The Antidote

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter. - Proverbs 25:2 NASB

David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. - 1 Samuel 30:6

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. - Isaiah 26:3 NKJV

Run to win!

So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. - Ephesians 5:15-17 NLT

But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, - Jude 1:20 NLT

Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:8-9 NLT

Take Action!

Do you find yourself intimidated into not being openly curious about life or our Father?
Curiosity is a catalyst for action. We must activate it and learn to walk with curiosity to make ourselves available to the truth.
Seek the truth by reviving your curiosity. Add curiosity to your prayer list.

Do you feel scared or like you will fail if you engage people with different philosophies of life?
Develop your curiosity about our Lord and His ways. Curiosity is a powerful weapon against fear.
Boldness is also a byproduct of being consumed by the pursuit of our Lord.

    1. Yea, this is an area that doesn't get attention but has become a handicap we don't even know we have.

Thank you for the note! :-)
