The Miracles We Don't See
Miracles are generally attributed to an event where someone is in a bad situation that seems impossible to get out of. A person gets thrown from a car in a horrific accident where the driver seat is crushed. Somehow that person sails out the window 50 yards and sustains minimal to no injuries. Miracle!
It does happen and these really are supernatural events. I'm sure we could all reflect on when one of these unexplainable events has occurred in our lives where we witnessed something that seemingly, should not occur. Yet, somehow it does.
Many see these providential moments as acts of God. They are so moving, due to the supernatural aspect of the event that we tell the story for the rest of our lives as an inspiration to ourselves and others. We ask, "maybe God is working on my behalf. Maybe there is a purpose to life?"
We as Christians take great joy in celebrating this power and mercy of our Lord and we should. Yet, let's look at a kind of miracle that God does right in front of us but we never really seem to notice. It is a more common occurrence than we may think.
The miracles done right under our noses everyday are actually hard to see. The reason is we take them for granted. We do this because we have become used to these subtle works of the Lord and give them little value. Let's think about how we can shake this indifference.
We also know that God tells us that we need to seek Him to find Him. When we are acknowledging Him we are observing His ways and seeking Him out! We are to seek Him continually and seek Him with all of our heart. This is expressed many times in the Bible.
The reason this scripture exists is to reveal to us the real world around us. We begin to understand the amazing works that God is doing around us every moment. This command is given because we are far to easily lulled into the seductive cares of this world, when we are not acknowledging the Lord working around us.
Let's let the ever-so-subtle miracles occurring around us be an inspiration to us. In all our ways, acknowledging the Lord, is one great way to see that God is working on our behalf. That there is a purpose in our lives.
Concept: Acknowledge the Lord in all your ways.

A Miracle: Subtle, Moving, Profound
Have you ever seen a father pick up his child just before the child walked into the street? The father didn't even notice the oncoming car that would have certainly hit the child. We are left wondering, was there a miracle simply in the normal care that the father has for his child? Maybe. So, how would we know?The miracles done right under our noses everyday are actually hard to see. The reason is we take them for granted. We do this because we have become used to these subtle works of the Lord and give them little value. Let's think about how we can shake this indifference.
To Take For GrantedUnderestimate the value of, become used to.
We also know that God tells us that we need to seek Him to find Him. When we are acknowledging Him we are observing His ways and seeking Him out! We are to seek Him continually and seek Him with all of our heart. This is expressed many times in the Bible.
Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him. Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given, - 1 Chronicles 16:11-12 NLT
"I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me. - Proverbs 8:17 NLT
In All Your Ways...
In the scriptures we are instructed in Proverbs 3:6 NKJV, "In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." This scripture is a key to actually witnessing the Lord perform miracle after miracle, all around us, every day!The reason this scripture exists is to reveal to us the real world around us. We begin to understand the amazing works that God is doing around us every moment. This command is given because we are far to easily lulled into the seductive cares of this world, when we are not acknowledging the Lord working around us.
Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. - Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT

Take Action!
How can I acknowledge the Lord in all my ways?
Why is it we have trouble seeing God working?
I guarantee that if you take the effort to do the following, that you will see the world in whole new light. You're going to be blown away through witnessing the constant hand of God working all around you.
~~~~~~~
Look for the Lord working around you and thank Him when you see Him move. The key is in the little things. Begin to acknowledge the Lord in everything you see Him doing. Everything!
Did you get a series of green lights on the way to work? Acknowledge Him. Thank Him. Did you get a discount you weren't expecting on the M&M's you just bought? Acknowledge Him. Don't let an instance go by without making that acknowledgement.
When we are immersed in this granular world where we witness God performing the subtle, moving and profound miracles, our eyes are opened. The hand of God is revealed and His plans and our purpose become more clear. It creates a draw to serve Him, love Him and desire Him above all things.
Commit to doing this all day for then next week and you will begin to see the real miracle. That miracle is this. God has His hand on everything and when you see it, your prayer list is going to be far more meaningful. Connecting with other Christians will have new life and new purpose. It will change everything. That's the miracle... God in you the hope of glory.
Why is it we have trouble seeing God working?
There are a couple reasons.
1) We are not looking for it. We are taking for granted that the things working around us are happening because they are just happening. If we look a little closer we begin to see a design in the flow of human activity.
2) There is so much going on and so many people God is blessing simultaneously, it's impossible to see everything He has to do to pull it all off. It's such an elaborate undertaking, it makes tracking every detail and how they are performed, beyond our comprehension. We simply can't take it all in.
Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. - Isaiah 48:17 NKJV
